CAN I BE?

Can I be dead?
So that I can no longer feel pain.
So that I can no longer cry.
So that I can no longer be hurt

Can I be a stone?
So that I can no longer love.
So that I can no longer feel compassion.
So that I can no longer care.

Can I be trash?
So that I won’t care whatever others to to me.
So that I won’t care where people dump me.
So that I won’t care whoever I am with.

Can I just be me?
Where I would be understood.
Where I would be protected from pain and suffering.
Where I would be just me…

The Misconception of Love

Patient: I do not want to live, I cannot live without my husband, I love him so much

Psychologist: You are mistaken, you do not love your husband

Patient: (angrily) What do you mean?! I just told you I cannot live without him

Psychologist: What you describe is parasitism, not love. When you require another individual for your survival, you are a parasite on that individual. There is no choice, no freedom involved in your relationship. It is a matter of necessity rather than love. Love is the free exercise of choice. Two people love each other only when they are quite capable of living without each other but choose to live with each other.
